I am a big fan of Ann Barnhardt’s blog and podcast. You should be too. I learned more from her and Non Veni Pacem than I ever did in my Novus Bordo Church classes.
Read Her Latest Post Guess what my kids (present and future if we survive beyond 2020) will be getting when they’re 13? A flip phone. I got one when I was 13, and it was pretty much useless unless my plans changed last minute, which was rare. I didn’t get a smart phone until I was 20. And that was only because my phone was stolen and I needed a new phone. If they complain, my response will be as follows: “Oh, do you have $800 to spare? No? Then that’s it”. ”I don’t care if {insert name} has one.” ”You don’t need Facebook” ”It’s a want, not a need”. You get the idea. You can’t afford it or the additional data costs each month, so no smartphone for you. Sorry. Call me a mean mom living in a bubble, but as parents it’s our duty to protect the innocence of our children. EDIT: Weebly you are frustrating me by not posting the rest of my post. Off to blogspot I go! Comments are closed.
